A Second World War Australian Middle East Operations group awarded to Gunner H.R. McNab, Australian Artillery, who served from 1941 to 1942 in the Middle East, and for a period was with the Middle East AIF School of Artillery.

Group of 5: Africa Star; Defence Medal; War Medal; Australia Service Medal 1939-1945; these all named in correct officially impressed Australian issue small letter style from the early 1950’s; (VX21847 H.R. McNAB), and together with a later engraved 1939-1945 Star, this named in an engraved style to match the impressed medals.

Condition: Good Very Fine.

Henri Robert McNab was born on 10th January 1903 in Drouin, Victoria, and with the outbreak of the Second World War then enlisted at Caulfied, Victoria on 4th June 1940, joining as a Gunner (No.VX21847) the Australian Artillery.

Posted to the Middle East, he joined the Middle East AIF School of Artillery and passed out on 28th December 1941, being then taken on the strength of the Artillery Training Regiment, and detached to the Middle East School of Artillery, before embarking on 24th March 1942, and disembarking Australia on 19th April 1942, he being discharged on 22nd August 1942.
