Western Front Officer’s casualty 1914-1915 Star trio awarded to Second Lieutenant, later Lieutenant S.P. Dodson, Royal Engineers who saw service on the Western Front from 13th December 1915 and would admitted to Queen Alexandra’s Military Hospital, Millbank on 15th November 1916 suffering gun shot wounds to both knees. He would later be demobilised on 22nd March 1920, and died on 10th September 1924.

Sydney Pearson Dodson was born on 1st August 1878 and would be christened in Manchester on 6th November 1879. Having enlisted he would later see service as a Second Lieutenant, later Lieutenant with the Royal Engineers on the Western Front from 13th December 1915, her would suffer gunshot wounds to both knees being admitted to Queen Alexandra’s Military Hospital, Millbank on 15th November 1916 and being discharged to Lindsay Hospital (Mrs Robert Lindsay’s Hospital for Officers, Mayfair) on 15th December 1916.
Dodson would relinquish his commission and be demobilised on 22nd March 1920, and having moved abroad, lived in San Gervasion, Barcelona. He died on 10th September 1924 at Stratford, Buckinghamshire and would leave an estate of £15,901.
