Having no known grave he is now remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.

John Moore was born in Rangemore, Staffordshire and attested at Litchfield on 2nd September 1914 and saw service in France as a Private (No. 16349) with the 2nd Battalion, Duke of Wellington’s (West Riding Regiment) from 4th May 1915. He would be reported missing on 9th December 1915 having been seen wounded, and would later be confirmed as killed in action on 7th December 1915 this officially being noted on 12th October 1916. Having no known grave he is now remembered on the Thiepval Memorial.
