Western Front Casualty 1914-1915 Star awarded to Private A.G. Pratt, 6th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry who having served on the Western Front from 22nd July 1915 would die of wounds on 21st February 1917 having received gun shot wounds to the head the previous day.

Alban George Pratt was born in Blockley, Worcestershire and enlisted at Nuneaton, Warwickshire before he saw service as a Private (No. 11639) with 6th Battalion, Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire Light Infantry on the Western Front from 22nd July 1915. Admitted to hospital with scabies on 1st January 1917, he would be released and returned to the front lines, where he would subsequently suffer gun shot wounds to the head on 20th February 1917, dying of his wounds the following day. He is buried in Grove Town Cemetery, Meaulte.
