Waterloo Medal 1815, fitted with modified straight bar suspension attached to the disc by means of an ornately bevelled rod and screw fitting, circa 1820s to 1830s awarded to Private Edwin Low, 11th Regiment of Light Dragoons who was present at the Battle of Waterloo on 18th June 1815 where he served with Captain James Bouchier’s Troop of the 11th Light Dragoons under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Money. The 11th Dragoons were present with 390 men of which two officers and were killed and five wounded, as well as 10 other ranks killed, 34 wounded and 25 missing.

Edwin Low was present at the Battle of Waterloo on 18th June 1815 where he served with Captain James Bouchier’s Troop of the 11th Light Dragoons under the command of Lieutenant Colonel Money. They were in the 4th Cavalry Brigade under Major General Vandeleur.
They were on the left flank at Papelotte Farm behind the Nasseau Infantry. The heavy brigade made a successful charge but spoiled it because they did not reform. The 11th Dragoons then went in and broke a French square and pursued them. There were 390 present of which two officers were killed and five wounded, ten other ranks were killed, thirty four wounded and twenty five missing.
