Reginald Deahl was born and enlisted at Southampton, and saw service during the Great War as a Private (No.24252) with the Somerset Light Infantry, before transferring as a Private (No.242409) to the 1st/6th Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment, Territorial Force, and seeing service out on the Western Front, he was killed in action during the Third Battle of Ypres on 4th October 1917.

Having no known grave, he is commemorated by name on the Tyne Cot Memorial. Aged 20 at the time of his death he was the son of George Edward Deahl, of 8 Woodside Road, Southampton. Additionally entitled to the British War Medal.
