John W. Bunyard saw service as a Private (No. 7678) with the Royal West Kent Regiment, and later as a Private (No. 511222) with the Labour Corps and as a Private (No. 60544) with the Lancashire Fusiliers.
He was twice noted as wounded during the course of the Great War, for the first time in the Kent Messenger on 24th August 1917 and for the second time in the War Office Weekly Casualty List on 31st December 1918 whilst serving with the Lancashire Fusiliers. Bunyard was a native of Maidstone.
