Frank Wormleighton was born in Kilby, Leicestershire, and having enlisted at Leicester, then saw service during the Great War as a Corporal (No.50255) with the 10th Service Battalion, Lancashire Fusiliers. Present out on the Western Front he was killed in action during the Battle of Amiens on 25th August 1918, and having no known grave, is commemorated by name on the Vis-en-Artois Memorial. Wormleighton is also commemorated by name on the War Memorial in St. Mary Magdalene Church in Kilby.
