Victorian 19th Century Police / Night Watchman’s Medallion, silver gilt and enamels, the obverse bearing the symbols of a truncheon entwined with a set of handcuffs from which hands a lamp. Above is Queen Victoria’s Crown and the monogram ‘VR’. The reverse is plain, but bears the hallmarks for Birmingham with date letter ‘z’ for 1899 and the jewellers mark ’T. BROS’. Measuring approximately 23 mm in diameter. Unusual.
