The New Jersey World War Medal was awarded to all citizens of the State who served during the First World War. This included volunteers, draftees and federalized members of the National Guard. It was also provided to the next-of-kin of those who died while in service. New Jersey provided approximately 110,000 men during the First World War. Bastian Brothers Company of Rochester, New York manufactured the medal.
