Research indicates that there was a Floyd Burmeister, born in 1927, who saw service in the United States Marine Corps during the Korean War. This is almost certainly him as he would have been old enough to have already completed three years service in the United States Army to then have qualified for the Army Good Conduct Medal. This combination of awards would have been unusual when worn by a United States Marine Corps recipient.
