The very good Great War, India North West Frontier Waziristan operations and Second War Africa and Burma Group to Captain L.V. Peacock, 2nd Battalion, 9th Jat Regiment who had initially been commissioned into the 6th Cyclist Battalion, Suffolk Regiment before transferring to the Machine Gun Corps and finally the Indian Army. Having seen great War service in France and Palestine he would go on to see service with the 2nd Battalion, 9th Jat Regiment during the operations on the North West Frontier in Waziristan during the period from 1921 to 1923 when he would retire from the Army. He would take Holy Orders and graduate from Sarum Theological College in Salisbury in 1938, being ordained as a Deacon and Priest in 1939 and serving as the Curate at West Grinstead with Partridge Green from 1939-41. During the Second World War he would serve as a Chaplain to the Royal Air Force Volunteer Reserve. After the Second World War he would serve as the Vicar of Selmeston with Alciston from 1946-53 and the Perpetual Curate of Chideock, Dorset 1953-59.

Leslie Vernon Peacock was born on 4th February 1893, the son of the Reverend R. Peacock. Educated at Marlborough and at Fitzwilliam College, Cambridge where he gained a Diploma in Agriculture in 1914. Serving as a Cadet in the Cambridge Officer Training Corps he would be commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant in the 6th Cyclist Battalion, Suffolk Regiment (Territorial Force) in November 1914, being appointed a Temporary Lieutenant in December of that year, and as a Lieutenant in June 1916. He would be attached to the Machine Gun Corps in March 1916 and would then transfer to the Indian Army in August 1917, serving in France and Palestine during the war, and subsequently attaining the rank of Captain in August 1919.
He would go on to see service as a Captain with the 2nd Battalion, 9th Jat Regiment during the operations on the North West Frontier in Waziristan during the period from 1921 to 1923, then retiring from the Army.
