Ernest Henry Huxford was born in Gosport, Hampshire and at the time of the 1911 census was living at 12 Union Street, Portsea. He would be appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire, M.B.E. in the London Gazette of 6th June 1947 for his work as a Naval Store officer with the Admiralty.
His father, also Ernest Henry Huxford had been appointed a Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire in the King’s Birthday Honours of 1918, he had also been a Naval Store officer.
