The Carr brothers’ casualty 1914-1915 Star trios, the first to Private S. Carr, 1st Battalion, Essex Regiment who was killed in action on 28th October 1916 and having no known grave is now remembered on the Thiepval Memorial. His brother Driver, later Gunner A.C. Carr, ‘B’ Battery, 55th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery who saw service at Gallipoli from 25th October 1915 and later died in India on 1st November 1916. Having no known grave he is now remembered on the Kirkee Memorial.

Sidney Carr was born in Upton Park, Essex and still resided there when he enlisted at Woolwich, Kent. Subsequently seeing service as a Private (No. 19628) with the 1st Battalion, Essex Regiment he was killed in action on 28th October 1916 and having no known grave is now remembered on the Thiepval Memorial. He is noted as the son of Thomas and Ann Eliza Carr of 24 Harold Street, Green Street, Upton Park, London.

Albert Charles Carr was born in Mile End and enlisted at Canning Town before seeing service as a Driver and later Gunner (No. 98071) with ‘B’ Battery, 55th Brigade, Royal Field Artillery. He initially served at Gallipoli from 25th October 1915 and later died on 1st November 1916 and is now remembered on the Kirkee Memorial. He is also noted as the son of Thomas and Ann Eliza Carr of 24 Harold Road, Green Street, Upton Park.
