Sweden: Royal Medal for Zeal and Probity in the Service of the Kingdom (Kunglig Medalj för Nit och Redlighet i Rikets Tjänst), Silver, rim stamped ‘SILVER’ and ‘1918’, obverse bearing the bust of King Gustaf V, reverse officially named in raised letters: ‘TiLL F.E.O. STATIONSKARLEN A.P. LARSSON.’ which translates as: ‘To F.E.O. the Station Man A.P. Larsson.’ With original length of ribbon with the stitch marks indicating that this medal was worn as such.
Condition: Good Very Fine.
The Medal was instituted by King Gustav IV Adolf in 1803 to be awarded to those who blamelessly managed a public position and demonstrated zeal and honesty as an employee of the state for at least 30 years. The Medal reorganised in 1830 by King Karl XIV Johan and amended again in 1947.
