James Weakley saw 23 years and 21 days service including 4 years and 10 months overseas service spent in Gibraltar. Discharged on 17th December 1872 he had never been tried by court-martial, nor had he been entered into the Regimental defaulters book. His conduct being noted as very good, he was in possession of five good conduct badges.
This was the recipients sole medal entitlement.
