Robinson, who came from Tipton, Staffordshire, was serving as a Sergeant with the Royal Artillery in Italy when he was Mentioned in Despatches for gallant and distinguished service in the London Gazette for 29th November 1945.

Robinson, 101 Dudley Port, Tipton, Staffs’.

Harry Robinson came from Tipton, Staffordshire, and was a serving member of the Territorial Army who had originally enlisted as a Private (No.3764527) into the 5th Battalion, Liverpool Regiment on 23rd October 1925, before being transferred to the Territorial Army Reserve on 23rd October 1932, and then discharged from the Reserve on 15th November 1937, as a result of his having enlisted into the Regular Army. Robinson re-enlisted on 17th November 1937, joining The Queen’s Regiment.
He however then saw service whilst once again with the Territorial Army as a Warrant Officer 2nd Class (No.1449634) with the Royal Artillery during the Second World War in North Africa and Italy. Robinson was serving as a Sergeant when he was Mentioned in Despatches for gallant and distinguished service in Italy in the London Gazette for 29th November 1945. Robinson was transferred to the Class ‘Z’ Territorial Reserve on 21st January 1946.
