Keenan, the Works Manager and Foreman of Casartelli Brothers, the Mathematical Instrument Makers, who was also a member of the Air Raid Protection Service in the First Aid Department from 1939, and who was awarded the British Empire Medal in the King’s Birthday Honours List as published in the London Gazette for 9th Jun 1949.

    William Michael Keenan came from Liverpool, and as of 1939 was working as a Works Manager and Foreman of Casartelli Brothers, the Mathematical Instrument Makers, and also a member of the Air Raid Protection Service in the First Aid Department. Keenan then performed this role right through the Second World War including during the Liverpool Blitz, and it was for his wartime work as Works Manager and Foreman of Casartelli Brothers that he was awarded the British Empire Medal in the King’s Birthday Honours List as published in the London Gazette for 9th Jun 1949.
