Saint John Ambulance Association Proficiency Cross in Silver, large-form, chrome plated, reverse engraved: ‘A61711 VERA COOMBES), with consecutive five annual bars in bronze form for 1944 through to 1948, these all engraved on the reverse ‘A61711’, and additional fourteen annual consecutive bars from 1949 to 1962, these all unmarked on the reverse.
Also a Primrose League Warden’s Badge, and a Primrose League Membership Badge, and a National Hospital Service Reserve Badge and a Family Club Badge.
As awarded to a lady, Vera Coombes, who qualified in first aid proficiency through the Saint John Ambulance Brigade (No.A.61711) and would appear to have been a member of both the National Hospital Service Reserve and the Primrose League. She saw service on the Home Front during the Second World War.
