Topping, Royal Air Force who having seen Second World War service in Burma would later see service during the Malayan Emergency and would be awarded the Royal Air Force Long Service and Good Condcut Medal on 24th January 1957. He would be serving at R.A.F. Kinloss when he died in service on 1st February 1972 being remembered on the Armed Forces Memorial.

John David Topping was born in Springburn, Glasgow in 1922, and passed his entrance exam for the 38th entry on 31st May 1938, and enlisted on 24th January 1939, initially serving as an Aircraftman 2nd Class and later as a Chief Technician. His Long Service Medal was awarded on 24th January 1957. He would be serving at R.A.F. Kinloss when he died in service on 1st February 1972, now being remembered on the Armed Forces Memorial.
