Second World War Burma campaign Territorial long service group awarded to Lieutenant R.G. Paterson, Royal Armoured Corps, formerly Gordon Highlanders, Territorial Army, who was commissioned in December 1939, and then transferred into the Royal Armoured Corps in June 1942, seeing service in Burma.

Group of 5: 1939-1945 Star; Burma Star; Defence Medal; War Medal; Efficiency Medal, GVI 1st type, Territorial suspension, later issue style of impressed naming; (LT R G PATERSON RAC), mounted swing style as worn.

Ronald Galbraith Paterson was a pre war member of the Territorial Army and serving as a Private with the Gordon Highlanders when with the outbreak of the Second World War he was commissioned as a 2nd Lieutenant (No.105764) into the Gordon Highlanders on 2nd December 1939. Paterson was promoted to war substantive Lieutenant on his transfer to the Royal Armoured Corps on 24th July 1942, and then saw service in Burma. He subsequently belatedly claimed his Efficiency Medal
