Russia – Soviet: Order of the Red Star awarded to Senior Technical Lieutenant and Assistant Battalion Commander Gavrill Mikhailovich Fedorov, who later served with the 898th Independent Auto-Transport Battalion as an operation and Maintenance Engineer. Although no citation can be found for the award, the fact that it was awarded by the 3rd Belarussian Front in late February 1945 would indicate it was related to the fighting in East Prussia.

Gavril Mikhailovich Fedorov was born in the village of Nikolskoe, Sontsevsky District, Kursk Oblast in 1899. A Russian National he attained a Middle School education before serving with the Red Army during the Russian Civil War between 1918-1922.
This Order of the Red Star was issued to him whilst serving as Senior Technical Lieutenant and Assistant Battalion Commander, Technical Officer and was issued by decree of the 3rd Belorussian Front on 27th February 1945, we have been unable to find a citation for this award unfortunately.
He would also receive a Medal for Victory over Germany and by November 1946 was employed as a Operation and Maintenance Engineer with the 898th Independent Auto-Transport Battalion.
