Russia – Soviet: Order of Glory 3rd Class awarded to Master Sergeant Konstantin Ivanovich Turbin, 1117th Rifle Regiment, 332nd Rifle Division, who as a Company Orderly participated in the offensive on the town of Libava in the Baltic and was severely wounded spending the rest of the war recovering in a hospital.

Konstantin Ivanovich Turbin was born in Moscow in 1920, and having attained an Elementary education served in the Red Army between October 1940 and May 1946, serving with the Voronezh Front from August 1942 and then with the 1st Baltic Front from August 1943.
This Order of Glory 3rd Class was Turbin’s sole award and was issued to him by Order of 332nd Rifle Division on 14th July 1945, whilst serving as a Master Sergeant in the role of Company orderly, 1117th Rifle Regiment, 332nd Rifle Division, 6th Guards Army, 1st Baltic Front, and was as a result of the following citation:
‘Master Sergeant Turbin K.I. was drafted to the Red Army on 3rd October 1940. In the Patriotic War, he has been in the frontline forces since August 1942. As part of the 1117th Rifle Regiment, 332nd Rifle Division, 1st Baltic Front, he participated in the offensive on the town of Libava and was severely wounded on 2nd February 1945. (according to the wounded testimony, he was wounded twice, but doesn’t have medical certificate).
During his hospital stay, he maintains good discipline.
For active participation in the struggle against the German invaders, he deserves state award ‘Order of Glory 3rd Class’.
The recommendation his signed by the head of the Evacuation Hospital No.1805 on 3rd July 1945, shortly after the war.
After his discharge, Turbin worked as a Supply Agent at the Resort and Sanitorium Directorate of the Central Officer of the Trade Unions, whilst living at Apartment 77, 46-48 Stabu Street in the city of Riga.
