Russia – Soviet: An Order of the Red Star awarded to Senior Lieutenant Dmitry Ivanovich Fadeikov, Platoon Commander of a 45mm gun battery, 139th Rifle Regiment, 41st Rifle Division who was wounded during battles for the Socialist Motherland, he would later take part in both the liberation of Warsaw and the Capture of Berlin.

Dmitry Ivanovich Fadeikov was born in the village of Vanskoe, Vansky Selsovet, Ustyuzhensky District, Vologda Oblast in 1912. A Russian national he attained an elementary education before serving in the Red Army between 1934 and 1937. He would rejoin in October 1941 and would see service on the Volkhov and Belarussian Fronts during the course of the war.
This Order of the Red Star would be the recipients first award issued to him by decree of the 41st Rifle Division on 6th July 1944, at this time he was serving as a Senior Lieutenant and Platoon Commander of a 45mm gun battery, 139th Rifle Regiment, 41st Rifle Division. The citation reads
‘He has been an active participant of battles on the front of the Patriotic War since 16th March 1942. In battles for the Socialist Motherland, displaying courage and bravery, he was wounded one time.

This was upgraded to an Order of the Red Star.
Fadeikov would later be awarded an Order of the Red Star by decree of the 19st Rifle Corps on 25th November 1944 and an Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class by decree of the 91st Rifle Corps on 30th May 1945. During the latter stages of the war he would take part in the Liberation of Warsaw and the Capture of Berlin receiving the respective medals for both of these campaigns.
By October 1946, he had left the Red Army and would be unemployed whilst living in the village of Vanskoe
