Awarded to Reserve Private Afanasy Yegorovich Tokarev who having been born in the village of Iznoskovo, Lgov Raion, Kursk Oblast who served as a Rifleman in the 173rd Rifle Regiment, 90th Rifle Division, who served in the Red Army between July 1941 and June 1944. There being no citation available for this award given by Order of the Leningrad Front on 3rd June 1945, it is highly likely especially with his service appearing to conclude in June 1944 that this award was for wounds received during combat leading to disablement.
Tokarev’s only other medal entitlement was a Medal for the Victory over Germany.
