Russia -Soviet: An interesting documented Hungary and Austria offensives Order of the Red Star, Order of Glory 3rd Class and Medal for Bravery group awarded to Junior Sergeant and Guards Sergeant Grigory Yakovlevich Kosenko, 135th Artillery Brigade, who would receive three decorations during the Patriotic War, the first of which a Medal for Bravery for the battle of the village of Libad in Hungary where he fired his machine gun and killed 12 German soldiers, next would be an Order of Glory 3rd Class where in Austria he killed 12 German soldiers and finally an Order of the Red Star where he fixed the sound locator under enemy fire.
Group of 3: Order of the Red Star, the reverse numbered 2588825; Order of Glory 3rd Class, type 2, the reverse numbered 705579; Medal for Bravery, 2nd type, the reverse numbered 3655584.
Condition: the enamel work in overall good order, and the red lettering still present on the Medal for Bravery, overall Good Very Fine

Grigory Yakovlevich Kosenko was born in Sumy Oblast, Ukraine in 1900 and would go on to see service as a Junior Sergeant, Guards Soldier with the 135th Artillery Brigade, he would receive three decorations during the Great War, the first being a Medal for Bravery, this was awarded to him on 7th March 1945 for:
‘On 19th February 1945, in the battle for the village of Libad in Hungary. When detaching the enemy infantry counterattacks, he fired machine gun and killed 12 German soldiers.’
His next award would be an Order of Glory, 3rd Class, this on 3rd May 1945:
‘On 7th April, in battle in Austria, Kosenko fired his machine gun at the enemy, killing 12 German soldiers which ensured the advancement of his company forward with least casualties.’
His final decoration would be an Order of the Red Star, issued to him on 23rd May 1945:
‘Kosenko was taking care of a sound locator. During an enemy fire, the sound locator was damaged, he ran to the building that had the sound locator and fixed it. When he fixed it, it started working properly and he was able to locate where the enemy fire was coming from.’
