Anton Efimovich Semenchuk was born in Korets, Rivne Oblast in 1905, and served in the Red Army between January 1944 until August 1945. This award of the Order of Glory 3rd Class was issued to him by Order of the 173rd Rifle Division on 26th April 1945 whilst serving as a Private and Rifleman, 1st Rifle Company, 1st Rifle Battalion, 1311th ‘Minsk’ Rifle Regiment, 173rd ‘Orsha’ Red Banner Rifle Division for:
‘In an offensive battle on 27.03.1945 in the area of Bagpa, he was the first to burst into the indicate defensive line, inspiring the other soldiers to follow him.’
1311th Rifle Regiment of which Semenchuk was a member was to receive the Order of Suvorov for its part in the destruction of the enemy group in the area of Konigsberg at this time, his Order of Glory 3rd Class would have been for his involvement in destroying a German pocket in the area.
After the war Semenchuk worked in Agriculture in the village of Yuzefin, Korets District, Rivne Oblast where he was living
