Nikolai Vasilevich Ryabikov was born in Zhabrikha, Savinsky District, Ivanovo Oblast during 1908, he became a member of the Communist Party in 1941 and joined the Red Army in August 1941 serving for the remainder of the war.
Ryabikov was to receive three decorations during the war, his first a Medal for Combat Merits was issued by decree of the 37th Mechanised Brigade on 12th October 1944, the second a Medal for Bravery issued by decree of the 37th Mechanised Brigade on 12th April 1945, the third and final award was this Order of the Red Star issued to him by Decree of the 37th Mechanised Brigade on 5th April 1945.
Issued whilst serving as a Senior Sergeant as a Squad Commander, Technical Support Company, 37th Mechanised ‘Slutsko-Pomeranian’ Red Banner, Order of Suvorov Brigade as a result of the following recommendation:
‘Comrade Ryabikov has served since 04.1943 in the technical support company as squad commander for transportation of fuels and lubricants. During the brigade’s combat actions in Germany, Comrade Ryabikov managed to pull together his squad in such a way that advance units of the brigade were always fully supplied with fuel, having captured a large quantity of fuel. Comrade Ryabikov deserves the government award the Order of the Red Star.’
After the war, Ryabikov is noted as serving as a commodity researcher, in the worker’s supply department of the Lezhnevsky Factory, in the city of Ivanovo, whilst living in at 19 Karl Marx Street in the city.
