Russia – Soviet: A wireman’s relief of Leningrad Medal for Bravery awarded to Senior Sergeant Georgy Frolovich Gorokhovsky, Headquarters Battery Telephonist, 799th Artillery Regiment, 268th ‘Mga’ Rifle Division who repaired 10 wire breaks under enemy fire while situated in the ranks of the advancing infantry during the battles for the settlement of Ulyanovka.

Georgy Folovich Gorokhovsky was born in 1909, a Russian national he would be awarded this Medal for Bravery by decree of the 799th Artillery Regiment, 268th ‘Mga’ Rifle Division, Leningrad Front on 4th February 1944. The citation for this award was as follows:
‘Headquarters Battery Telephonist Senior Sergeant Gorokhovsky, Georgy Frolovich, for the following: in battles for the settlement of Ulyanovka, he provided uninterrupted communications between the regimental headquarters and the headquarters of the 1st Battalion, Situated directly in the ranks of the advancing infantruy, he repaired 10 wire breaks under enemy fire.’
It is unknown if Gorokhovsky won any further awards during his service.
