Russia – Soviet: A scarce Manchurian Offensive Order of the Red Star to Lieutenant Colonel Mikhail Mikhailovich Remizov, Deputy Unit Commander for Political Affairs, 368th Independent Auto Battalion for his part in keeping the frontline units fuelled during the advance.

Mikhail Mikhailovich Remizov was born in the city of Bezborodovka, Urensky District, Gorky Oblast in 1916, joined the Red Army in 1937 and became a member of the Communist Party in 1941.
Remizov would receive a number of decorations for his service, the first of which was an Orde rof the Red Star issued to him by decree of the 28th Army on 9th June 1945.
This appears to be Remizov’s second and final wartime award for gallantry, issued to him as the Deputy Unit Commander for Political Affairs, 368th Independent Auto Battalion by decree of the 17th Army on 28th August 1945 as a result of the following citation:
‘During the preparatory period and during the course of the war with the Japanese imperialists, he managed to organise the Party-political and educational work in the battalion well, directing the work at ensuring the fulfilment of combat orders from command in delivering fuel from Choibalsan directly to the front-line forces. During the army’s combat operations from 9 to 19th August, he personally on numerous occasions led auto convoys delivering fuel to formations and tank units of the army.’
He would also receive a Medal for the Victory over Germany, a Medal for the Victory over Japan, a Medal for the 30th Anniversary of the Soviet Army, a Medal for Combat Merits for 10 years long service on 24th June 1948, and a later Order of the Red Star issued to him for 15 years long service on 30th December 1956.
After the war he would still be in position serving as the Deputy Battalion Commander for Political Affairs, 368th Independent Auto Battalion, whilst living with 94 Rechnoi Punkt, Chekhov, Moscow Oblast.
