Order of the Red Star, type 2, numbered 2121550
Condition: Good very fine
Lieutenant Colonel Arkady Andreyevich Voichuk was born in the city of Veliky Ustyug in 1904, and is noted as having joined the Red Army in 1920. He was the recipient of an Order of the Red Star for 15 years long service on 3rd November 1944 before receiving this Order of the Red Star on 17th November 1945, for which no citation could be found whilst serving as the Senior tactics instructor at the Higher Artillery Officer School. At the time of the award he was living at 26 Liteiny Avenue, apartment 512, Leningrad.
Voichuk would further receive a Medal for the Victory over Germany, and an Order of the Red Banner for 20 years long service on 24th June 1948.
It would appear that there would have been a break in Voichuk’s service at some stage, as the Order of the Red Banner was awarded to him 28 years after first joining the Red Army, rather than the usual 20, possibly in the late 1930’s before being recalled for wartime service
