Russia – Soviet: A long service Order of the Red Star awarded to Captain Aleksei Rodionovich Bukhantsev, Deputy Chief of Staff for Operational Reconnaissance, 571st Assault Aviation Regiment who served from the outbreak of the war being awarded an Order of the Red Star in August 1941 for his service on the Western Front during the opening phase of the war. He would go on to serve after the war later being awarded this Order of the Red Star in 1954 for 15 years service in the Red Army.

Aleksei Rodionovich Bukhantsev was born in Mozdok in 1920. A Russian national he attained a middle school education and joined the Red Army in October 1938. Seeing frontline service from the outset of the war, he was issued an Order of the Red Star by decree of the Western Front on 9th August 1941, a very early Patriotic War award.
He would next receive an Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class by decree of the 8th Air Army on 30th December 1944. Continuing to serve after the war he would receive a Medal for Combat Merits for 10 years long service on 20th June 1949 and then finally this Order of the Red Star for 15 years long service on 30th April 1954.
At the time of this award he was a student at the Red Banner Military Academy for Command and Assault Personnel, Air Force of the Red Army, he had earlier served as the Deputy Chief of Staff for Operational Reconnaissance, 571st Assault Aviation Regiment.
