Russia – Soviet: A Long Service Order of the Red Star awarded to Captain Aleksei Mikhailovich Goryachev, Chief of the Auto Transport Section, Rear Services, Constanta Naval Base, Black Sea Fleet for 15 years long service. He had served earlier in the war during the Defence of Odessa and later during the Defence of the Caucasus.

Aleksei Mikhailovich Goryachev was born in the village of Vyunki, Narovchatsky District, Penza Oblast in 1908. A Russian national he attained a middle school education and joined the Communist Party in 1931.
He would receive a Medal for Combat Merits for 10 years long service on 3rd November 1944, and an Order of the Red Star by decree of the Commander of the Black Sea Fleet on 26th May 1945, before receiving this Order of the Red Star by decree of the Supreme Soviet on 10th November 1945 for 15 years long service in the Navy, as common with Navy awards this carries a citation which lists him as Captain and Chief of the Auto Transport Section, Rear Services, Constanta Naval Base, Black Sea Fleet, his previous service is noted as at ‘Odessa Naval Base, Sevastopol Naval Base, Tuapse, Varna and Constanta between June 1941 and 9th May 1945. He is also noted as having been awarded the Medal for the Defence of Odessa and the Medal for the Defence of the Caucasus.
The citation reads:
‘Comrade Goryachev has worked in the rear services of the Constanta Naval Base in the position of Chief of the Auto Transport Section from February 1945 to present. The position is befitting. He is disciplined. Politically developed. Devoted to the Party of Lenin and Stalin and the Motherland, and for his irreproachable service deserves the government award of the Order of the Red Star.’
Goryachev would continue to serve after the war and would receive the Order of the Red Banner for 20 years long service on 15th November 1950 and an Order of Lenin for 25 years long service on 30th December 1956.
