Russia – Soviet: A Long Service Order of the Red Banner awarded to Lieutenant Colonel Aleksandr Ivanovich Maslov, Chief of the base of the Ammunition deactivation base, artillery depot No.146, who saw service from the Civil War until 1950 in various roles relating to ammunition and artillery.

Aleksandr Ivanovich Maslov was born in Leningrad in 1896 and joined the Red Army in 1918. Maslov saw service during the Civil War, firstly on the South-Western Front and then on the Caucasus Front, where he initially worked as a pyrotechnician before then working as an aide to the head of the mobile artillery repair workshop. He would continue serving in various roles between the wars, and by the outbreak of the Winter War against Finland where he saw service was working as the Aide to the head of the artillery depot of the Baltic Fleet.
Serving during the Great Patriotic War, Maslov would first receive an Order of the Red Star on 7th March 1943, and then subsequently this Order of the Red Banner for 20 years long service on 3rd November 1944, by which time he was a Lieutenant Colonel and the Chief of the base of the Ammunition deactivation base, artillery depot No.146.
Maslov’s subsequently received an Order of Lenin for 25 years long service on 21st February 1945 and a second Order of the Red Banner for 30 years long service on 30th June 1949.
At the time of receipt of his final award in February 1950 he was still in position as the Head of the Ammunition Deactivation base of the Navy, and was living at the Officer Staff Dormitory No.9 at Bolshaya Shpora.
