Russia – Soviet: A good Long Service Order of the Red Banner to later Warsaw and Berlin veteran Colonel Fyodor Alekseevich Klekovkin, Deputy Chief of the Political Department, 47th Army for his political work which allowed the Department to fulfil its combat missions. These included during actions to breach the German defences west of Kovel and during the forcing of the Western Bug River where he repeatedly went out to the division and army units on assignments from the Chief and of the Army Political Department and the army’s Military Council as the head of the inspection groups.

Fyodor Alekseevich Klekovkin was born in the village of Sakharovo, Mishkinsky District, Bashkir ASSR in 1901. A Russian national he attained a middle school education before joining the Red Army in November 1919.
Serving in the Great Patriotic War he would be awarded an Order of the Patriotic War 1st Class by decree of the Belarussian Front on 12th September 1944 and then this Order of Red Banner for 20 years long service on 3rd November 1944 before being awarded the Order of Lenin on 21st February 1945, the citation for this award originally written in August 1944 whilst he was serving as a Colonel, Deputy Chief of the Political Department of the 47th Army states:
‘Working as deputy chief of the army’s political department since December 1943, he has proven himself a skilled political worker. He knows how to assess what is most important in his work and correctly aim the Party-political apparatus of the army’s formations and workers of the Army Political Department to fulfil combat missions. During the army’s combat actions to breach the German defences west of Kovel and during the forcing of the Western Bug River, Comrade Klekovkin repeatedly went out to the division and army units on assignments from the Chief of the Army Political Department and the army’s Military Council as the head of the inspection groups. While carrying out assignments, he displayed resoluteness and initiative, eliminating uncovered deficiencies, mobilising the Party-political apparatus to carry out he missions assigned by Command. Comrade Klekovkin is a politically literate and cultured political worker. He understands military matters and conveys his knowledge to the Army Political Department apparatus.
He deserves awarding of the Order of Lenin.’
Klekovkin would be further awarded an Order of the Red Banner on 6th March 1945 by decree of the 1st Belarussian Front. He would also be in receipt of a Medal for the Liberation of Warsaw, a Medal for the Capture of Berlin and a Medal for Victory over Germany.
By 3rd November 1946 he was working as the base Deputy Chief for Political Affairs at the Headquarters of Ministry of the Armed Forces Central Base No.3601 and was living in the village of Berezovka, Petrovsky District, Saratov Oblast.
