Vorisholov’ ‘Order of Lenin, Red Banner Rifle Division who served in the Red Army from September 1941 and was twice wounded in the fighting for the Courland Peninsula.

Mikhail Petrovich Kalinov was born in the village of Pempeshi, Kachanovsky District, Pskov Oblast during 1917. A Russian national having attained an elementary education he served in the Red Army from September 1941 until May 1945.
Petrovich was serving as a Rifleman, 2nd Rifle Battalion when he was awarded the Medal for Bravery by decree of the 158th Guards Rifle Regiment for:
‘as an active combatant of battles in the Patriotic War, while carrying out combat missions on 11.12.1944 and 19.01.1945, he was twice wounded.’
He was later awarded an Order of the Red Star by decree of the 51st Guards Rifle Division on 14th June 1945, as well as the Medal for the Victory over Germany.
After the war he was working as an artisan in men’s sewing at the Proletarsky Industrial Combine, whilst living at Brivibas 79, city of Riga.
