This Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class was issued to him by Order of the 29th Rifle Corps on 16th October 1944 for his involvement in the crossing of the Narew River and was on the back of the following citation:
‘On October 5-6-7, 1944, during the fighting aimed at expanding the bridgehead on the western bank of the Narew River and the capture of the village of Napiorki (Warsaw Voivodeship), comrade Vladimirov skilfully arranged radio communications throughout the period of combat operations, without any interruptions. For instance, because of ceaseless enemy artillery and mortar shelling, cable communications were frequently cut off, so whenever telephone communications were disrupted, radios were the only remaining means of communicating. Owing to the capable leadership of comrade Vladimirov, who personally provided power sources for the radio transceivers and who, when necessary, personally operated a transceiver, this form of communication proved decisive in exercising battle command. Thanks to this, regimental command was able to transmit combat orders, adjust fire, and order manoeuvres in a timely manner, as a result of which the regiment was able to successfully carry out its combat mission.
I apply for him to be awarded the Order of the Patriotic War 2nd Class.’
