Mikhail Ivanovich Drugov was born in the village of Mitroshanskaya in Vologda Oblast in 1922. A Russian nation he attained an elementary education before serving in the Red Army between 1941-1945. HEe is noted as a Senior Lieutenant at the time of his award.
This Order of the Patriotic War was issued to Drugov by decree of the Supreme Soviet on 12th June 1968, one of a batch of late awards for wounds and to individuals who had been recommended but not received their awards during the war. Unfortunately, no recommendation is available for this award.
On 23rd August 1968 he was working as Senior Inspector, State Fire Safety Authority for the Tarnogsky District in Vologda Oblast.
