Russia – Soviet: A Baltic Offensive Order of the Red Star awarded to Lieutenant Aleksei Emelyanovich Mashura, Disassembly Platoon Commander, 3rd Assembly, Distribution Point with the armoured and mechanised forces of the 3rd Belarussian Front for removing various components from tanks that were not eligible for restoration. He also received three monetary prizes.

Aleksei Emelyanovich Mashura was born in the village of Neforoshcha, Nekhvoroshchansky District, Poltava Oblast in 1914. A Ukrainian national he attained a middle school education before joining the Red Army in July 1941, he would see service in Crimea and at Stalingrad and received two wounds.
This Order of the Red Star was awarded by decree of the armoured and mechanised forces of the 3rd Belarussian Front on 24th May 1945 whilst serving as a Lieutenant and Disassembly Platoon Commander, 3rd Assembly and Distribution Point, the citation reading:
‘Commander of the Disassembly Platoon (16 men) Moshura, in a mine field (area of Raseiniai) over the period from the 10th to 28th October, removed the following assemblies and components from tanks that were not eligible for restoration: gear boxes – 21, large final drives – 40, small final drives – 39, lead wheels – 23, lower track wheels – 14, track pins – 800, and 16 tons of other components. During his service at the 3rd Assembly and Distribution Point, Lieutenant Mashura has been awarded three times with monetary prizes.
For skillful direction of the platoon’s work, for the platoon’s and his personal high military and labour discipline, and for excellent fulfilment of missions to remove parts and assemblies from tanks not eligible for repair, Lieutenant Mashura A.E. is recommended for awarding of the Red Star.’
After the war he was employed at the Stalin Kolkhoz, Apolonovsky Selsovet, Sakhnovshchinsky District, Kharkov Oblast whilst living in the village of Apolonovka.
