Russia – Soviet: A Baltic Coast Order of Glory 3rd Class awarded to Guards Sergeant Nikolai Konstantinovich Uzlov, Gun Crew Commander 194th Guards Rifle Regiment, 64th Guards Rifle Division who situated himself in the frontlines in attacks in the Leipaja District in late February 1945 and corrected the batteries fire on spotted targets. On the night of 28th February 1945, carrying out an order as part of of a battery, as he was first to notice a concentration of enemy infantry. Repelling the enemy counterattack, he eliminated 8 enemy soldiers with fire from his personal weapon.

Nikolai Konstantinovich Uzlov was born in the village of Adamovo, Maslovsky District, Yaroslavl Oblast in 1924. A Russian national he attained an elementary education and saw service in the Red Army from August 1942.
Uzlov would serve on the front lines from December 1942, and would be twice decorated, the first time being awarded an Order of the Red Star by decree of the 17th Independent Anti-Tank Brigade on 1st November 1944, before later being awarded this Order of Glory 3rd Class by decree of the 6th Guards Army on 15th April 1945.
Issued to him whilst serving as a Red Army Soldier and Scout with the 712th Anti-Tank Artillery Regiment, the recommendation reads:
‘Red Army Scout Uzlov, in battles from 20th to 28th February 1945 while breaching the enemy’s defences in the area of the muiza (estate) Ordanga, Priekule Region, Liepaja District, Latvian SSR, situated in the lines of the rifle units, corrected the batteries fire on spotted targets.

The fighting at this time would be an attempt to both erase the Kurland pocket and pave the way for an attack into East Prussia via Konigsberg.
Uzlov would also later be in receipt of a Medal for the Victory over Germany and by December 1946 would be employed as a Gun Crew Commander, 194th Guards Rifle Regiment, 64th Guards Rifle Division whilst living in the village of Adamovo, Maslovksy District, Yaroslavl Oblast.
