Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal, GVR, awarded to Musician A. Moore, Royal Marines who saw 29 years service beginning in 1917 during the war and lasting until his discharge on 26th November 1946. He would be present during the 1937 Coronation celebrations.

Alfred Moore was born at Northfleet, Gravesend, Kent in 1903 and joined as a Boy sailor on 12th October 1917 serving as a Bandsman until his 18th Birthday on 2nd October 1921 when he was given the rank of Musician. In April 1922 he would receive a British War Medal for his service during the Great War. He would be awarded this Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 20th December 1936, and is confirmed entitled to a 1937 Coronation Medal which he would be awarded on 3rd June 1937. He would be issued with a duplicate British War Medal and Royal Navy Long Service and Good Conduct Medal on 24th July 1937.
Moore would see service during the Second World War with the Plymouth Division, Royal Marines, although it is unclear what if any medal entitlement he earnt. He would be finally discharged on 26th November 1946
