Grant, 1st Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment saw service in the operations leading to the reconquest of the Sudan, he was in action at the Battle of Atbara on 8th April 1898 and the entry into Khartoum on 2nd September 1898, and is entitled to the Khedive’s Sudan Medal 1896 with clasps for the Atbara and Khartoum.
