Queen’s South Africa Medal 1899-1902, no clasp awarded to Private C. Etheridge, 2nd Battalion, later 1st Battalion, Norfolk Regiment who saw service in South Africa during the Boer War and would take part in operations in Transvaal.

Charles Etheridge was born in Acle Norwich and attested at Norwich on 22md December 1892. He would see service as a Private (No. 3473) with the 2nd, later 1st Battalion, Norfolk Regiment. Initially serving at home, he would travel to India on 9th November 1894 and remain there until 10th February 1902.
He would then spend a short period in South Africa from 11th February 1902 until 21st September 1902 taking part in the Boer War. He would be discharged on 22nd September 1902, having earnt entitlement to a Queen’s South Africa Medal with clasps Transvaal and South Africa 1902.
Charles Etheridge died in Norwich on 28th June 1950.
