Queen’s South Africa Medal 1899-1902, 4 Clasps: Tugela Heights, Relief of Ladysmith, Transvaal, South Africa 1902 awarded to Corporal H. Larkin, 2nd Battalion, East Surrey Regiment who saw service in South Africa during the Boer War and took part in operations during the Relief of Ladysmith including the forcing of the Tugela Heights in February 1900 as well as in operations in Transvaal.

Henry George Larkin was born in Lambeth and attested at Kingtson-on-Thames on 30th November 1896 and having served at home until 20th October 1899 would then travel to South Africa where he would take part in the Boer War as a Corporal (No. 5126) with the 2nd Battalion, East Surrey Regiment and saw service during the Boer War in South Africa on operations during the relief of Ladysmith including the forcing of the Tugela Heights in February 1900 as well as in the operations in Transvaal.
Larkin would return home between 7th August 1900 and 15th December 1901 when he returned to South Africa, where he would remain until he once more returned home on 7th October 1903. He would be discharged after 12 years service on 29th October 1908.
