Condition: small edge-knick at 6 o’clock on the obverse rim, otherwise Good Very Fine
William Sharood was born in Brighton and giving his trade as a carman, attested would see service in South Africa during the Boer War, taking part as a Private (No. 7811) with the 4th Battalion, Rifle Brigade and taking part in the operations in Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal.
He would return home on 4th February 1903 and remain there until 7th November 1905 during which time he would pass a Mounted Infantry class. After a short period in India between 8th November 1905 and 22nd April 1906, he would return home where he would be discharged on 10th July 1906.
