Frederick George Harrison was born in St. Mary Bredins, Canterbury and attested on 27th January 1900 and was posted to 2nd Battalion, East Kent Regiment – the Buffs on 16th February 1900 when the battalion arrived in South Africa for service during the Boer War where Harrison took part in the operations in Cape Colony, Orange Free State and Transvaal.
He returned to the UK on 10th June 1901 and was discharged on 15th June 1901.
