Henry Baxter was born in the parish of Swinton, near the town of Nottingham and enlisted into The Sherwood Foresters (Derbyshire regiment) on 19 Dec 1898, aged 18. He served in South Africa from 21 Nov 1899. Until 31 Oct 1902 and is additionally entitled to the King’s South Africa Medal.
