Punjab Medal 1848-1849, 1 Clasp: Mooltan awarded to Private J. Stannage, 10th (North Lincolnshire) Regiment of Foot and having earlier seen service at the Battle of Mahararjpoor would be present during the Second Sikh War where he took part in the siege of Mooltan which lasted from 7th September to 22nd January 1849 being left sick at Mooltan.

John Stannage initially saw service as a Private (No. 1221) with the 39th (Dorsetshire) Regiment of Foot being present in Kamptee with the unit at the time of the 1841 census. He would be present at the Battle of Maharajpoor on 29th December 1843 thus being awarded the Maharajpoor Star.
He would then transfer to the 10th (North Lincolnshire) Regiment of Foot and see service during the Second Sikh War in the Punjab Campaign, being present at the siege of Mooltan which lasted from 7th September 1848 to 22nd January 1849 being left sick at Mooltan.
He was present with the Regiment at Wazirabad, Pakistan at the time of the 1851 census.
