Old photograph of the Transvaal Scottish soldiers who participated the marksmanship competition known as the Hamilton Cup, as shot by them at Bisley on 20 March 1906. In addition to this photograph, and mounted onto the same double sided album page, is a photograph depicting a crowd having gathered at what is clearly a protest, the speaker on the stage in the background is beneath a sign inscribed: ‘Remember the Boston Tea Party’. There are two other photographs on the reverse page, one showing more men from the Transvaal Scottish, the other showing an underpass in the process of construction. Four gelatine silver print photographs in total, as split from a photograph album.
Condition: clear images, some tarnishing from age to card mount, generally Good Condition.
