Officer’s Great War Memorial Plaque awarded in memory of Captain F.N. Graham, 11th (Service) Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment who was killed in action on 16th November 1916 in the fighting at Beaumont Hamel on the Somme and is now buried in Contay British Cemetery, Contay and is also remembered on the St. James Church Memorial at Whitley, Coventry.

Francis Noel Graham was born in Coventry, and at the time of the 1911 census was employed as a wine and spirit mechant in Coventry.
Graham would see Great War service on the Western Front from August 1915 onwards as a Second Lieutenant and later Captain with the 11th (Service) Battalion, Royal Warwickshire Regiment and was killed in action on 16th November 1916 whilst fighting at Beaumont Hamel and is now buried in Contay British Cemetery, Contay. He is noted as the son of James G.C. and Sophia F.K. Graham of Whitley; husband of Alice Graham of Whitley, nr Coventry.
He is additionally remembered on the St. James Church, Whitley, Coventry Memorial. 1 of 8 men on the memorial, which was unveiled by the Lord Mayor of Coventry on 22nd February 2015
